Black Rabbit is maybe my favorite place to perform in Austin, a perfect comedy club, not too big, low ceilings in a basement. During the set before mine, the comic had addressed a young woman about being woman in some way, and she had awkwardly answered that his question hadn’t made sense because she isn’t a woman. Took him a moment to remember what that meant. Also she was pretty drunk and getting drunker. That’s the pertinent context to understand my references to and interactions with her in this set.
It’s interesting for me to watch this clip, which I believe was recorded in January, because the jokes I told in this one have evolved quite a bit, and I’d almost forgotten about the cali sober bit, and it makes sense to bring it back now in some of my longer sets.
